Shetland Collection. Contemporary Style, Combined with Timeless Beauty.
ERIBÉ has been producing purely natural and intrinsically Scottish knitwear since 1994. Committed to ecology, we worked with a small spinner to develop a pure, natural Shetland yarn. Our garments are available in a wide range of undyed colours. From (grass and seaweed), to sheep to garment the process is completed in Shetland with very low production miles.
The ERIBÉ ecology collection begins with the Shetland sheep, native to the harsh, exposed, rugged Shetland Islands. Adapting to this environment has made their fleece strong, lightweight, water resistant and warm just as the harsh conditions of the Himalayas determine the qualities of the cashmere goat fibre. The Shetland sheep display an array of beautiful, natural colours from rich, dark browns, dark and light greys to creams and whites. With so many colours to choose from, there is no need to use chemical dyes.
The people of these islands are mostly crofters. It is a hard and traditional lifestyle possible only by cooperating with neighbours and where the sense of community is very strong. At shearing time everyone gets together to clip the sheep. The fleeces are then carded and spun before being delivered to Lawrence to be knitted.
Love your Eribé garment for the comfort, the warmth and a style that is both contemporary and timeless. Choose carefully for it will be a special part of your life for many years to come.
